History of the installation :

This new installation replaces the previous POIRE-type needle and frame weir, dating back to 1875. It is the largest of the four mechanised weirs on the Meuse (along with Maizey, Montmeuse and Commercy). It is also one of the major projects managed by Voies Navigables de France, in the frame of improving the operation of this river.
